I just read this on the ge:s forum and thought you guys would like to read the status of the 4.2 update. Sounds like we should have it soon. There's a short video showing bots in game. forums.geshl2.com/index.php/topic,6869.msg0/boardseen.html#new

There's another post with some devs talking about how they are trying to make the bots learn from their mistakes and to respond to sounds like another player picking up armor or weapons in the area....sounds to me like they are trying to make Cylons. Hahaha. Thats awesome.

I've been waiting for years now to play TF2 in a proper league 'n my patience grows more thin every day. If it were as simple as getting a job and buying a new computer, I would, but it isn't like that for me. TF2 is something I have to get out of the way before I go on with the rest of my life. The only worthwhile component from my computer is an 8800 vidcard (not that an 8800 is all that great or new anymore, but it would be good enough for tf2 if the rest of the components were up to par) which I also received as a donation from an old CS team mate. Everything else is shitty, old, outdated and not worth keeping around. Since some components are borderline ready to blow up, there's no use in just adding in one or two good new parts. It'd be like putting a dress on a pig. Everything must be replaced or else whatever old shitty part remaining will hold everything else back, or eventually just blow up. Theoretically I could use the case, but even that's a pile of shit. New CPU/RAM/Mobo/Heat Sync/Power Supply... fucking need everything. New HD that doesn't have an outdated preinstalled 2006 version of windows XP along with a pile of other unneccessary software would be swell as well lol.

If it were as simple as getting a job and buying a new computer, I would, but it isn't like that for me. TF2 is something I have to get out of the way before I go on with the rest of my life. At one point i thought like that. First i used GE64, then GE:S, and then GE:S development work, constantly telling myself that i should focus on the things within my reach rather than what seemed to be so distant and unfavorable. For a great deal of time I used such excuses for an unfathomable quantity of things, until it got to the point where i began to compromise my future. I can't testify to being someone who no longer procrastinates, but at the very least i would never place something so short lived and inconsequential at the top of my priority list. Perhaps there are circumstances I'm unaware of, but take this from someone who said that sort of thing for a while: the immediate always gives way to the future.
